Who we are

Jim’s EV Adventures has my name on the door. It would be a lousy picture without Grace.

Between the two of us we put more than 50,000 miles a year on electric vehicles (EVs). Commutes, errands, beach runs, the Disney parks, road trips. If the wheels are turning, one of us is usually the reason.

The garage, in order:

My first EV was a 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, bought used from CarMax in October 2019 with 5,000 miles on it. In March 2023 I traded it for a 2023 Bolt EUV, which is still my daily driver. In August 2024 we added a Hyundai Ioniq 5 for Grace. In September 2026 a Tesla Model Y joined the driveway. The Ioniq is a lease that ends in early 2027. By June 2027 a Slate pickup is scheduled to take its spot, and the Hyundai will be gone. The Tesla has already become Grace’s daily driver and our favorite car for the long hauls.

I’m Jim. Retired United States Air Force (USAF) veteran, meteorologist, technical writer, and the one who points a camera at charging stations more often than is strictly necessary. Also a husband, father, and grandfather.

Grace is a USAF veteran too. She’s a registered nurse (RN), a mom, a grandmother, and the person who actually has to live with the guy who narrates the miles. She is not the social-media half of this operation, but she shows up for the channel whenever the schedule allows. With her hours, that counts as its own kind of adventure.

Two veterans. One nurse. One forecaster who won’t stop talking about kilowatt-hours. A lot of electric miles, and more on the way.
